With its own private entrance, the property originally had bedrooms at the front and the kitchen at the rear. EMR reversed this logic, relocating the kitchen and living spaces to the front and moving the bedrooms to the back, dramatically improving both light and flow.
A new pod extension was added, together with a rare upper-floor terrace — a highly sought-after feature in London and a true bonus for the property. This outdoor space not only provides fresh air and light but also extends the living areas, giving the maisonette a unique edge over more conventional layouts.
To ensure flawless delivery, EMR produced full construction drawings, supporting the build process and guaranteeing that every detail of the design intent was achieved. The interiors were further enhanced with clever storage and thoughtful finishes, ensuring that the home feels both elegant and practical.

We were moving from a rented flat to our first house and we had never done any refurbishment in London before so we were completely clueless about the process but we had a budget. While we were searching for architects and contractors, Emilie and her team came highly recommended and it was absolutely the BEST decision that we have made to work with her. She and her team turned an old Victorian house in Fulham to our DREAM home, taking it back to brick, and managing the process incredibly well in 12 months as promised. She was superb in working in our budget, for example when we could not extend the basement, she suggested a wonderful ground floor extension instead which will now be our main living area. She is very creative and has great taste. When we could not extend our loft as we are in the conservation area, she came up with creative solutions to drop the ceiling below to give is more liveable headroom in the loft so we could turn it into an office and a gym. She also has great suppliers and always went to great lengths to get us the best prices. She would guide us on where to spend the money and where to save so we do not waste our budget. She visited the site regularly and was always involved on the chats and emails. She always has oversight on her team so is involved from start to finish. Not only does she have fantastic design skills, but she understands how to translate this into practical living without breaking the bank. We appointed EMR to renovate our terraced house in London, having struggled to find a design that worked with a previous architect. The footprint of the house is small, making it a challenge to fit everything in, but EMR quickly came up with an incredible design that utilised every inch of space whilst still achieving a stunning finish.
