Daisy House – Fulham

Daisy House began as a modest Edwardian 120 sqm terrace in conservation area and was reimagined by EMR Architecture into a 310 sqm family home, including a detached studio. Designed for a family of six plus an au pair, the ambition was to create a house that combined light, generous social spaces and abundant storage with five bedrooms arranged for modern family life.

The design revolves around a striking central staircase set beneath a large rooflight, creating an atrium effect that fills the house with daylight from top to bottom. This architectural move ties every level together, ensuring the basement feels seamlessly connected to the rest of the home.

The basement itself is now a vital living layer: a 65 sqm open-plan room defined by a sunken seating area that naturally creates zones for play, leisure and gathering. Alongside, there is a comfortable bedroom with en-suite and a utility room, making this level both versatile and practical.

On the upper floors, four bedrooms and three bathrooms have been arranged with clarity and balance. The principal suite is distinguished by generous storage and an open bathroom that gives the space a sense of quiet luxury. Children’s rooms and family bathrooms are designed to be bright, functional and timeless.

Every piece of furniture was designed bespoke and crafted in India by Emilie’s brother, adding a deeply personal layer to the project. Combined with EMR’s architectural detailing, these elements create a home that feels warm, individual and perfectly suited to family life.

Daisy House is Emilie’s own home and a showcase of EMR Architecture’s ethos: family-centred design, flooded with natural light, and rooted in craftsmanship. The project was featured in Living etc. and other publications, recognised for its bold use of space and character.
