Doria House – Parsons Green, Fulham

In Parsons Green, Emilie oversaw the full renovation and extension of a Victorian terrace, including the creation of a new basement and the rebuilding of the entire rear of the house. Designed for a family with four grown-up children, the project sought to provide a bedroom for each child while ensuring generous living and entertaining spaces for the parents.

At the heart of the design is the decision to create two separate access points to the basement. This clever move allows natural light from the kitchen to filter down to the lower level while also increasing the sense of openness. The basement itself houses a media and leisure area, complemented by a glass enclosure that can be closed to create acoustic separation — ideal for when the children are watching TV while the parents entertain at ground floor level.

The kitchen, designed by Roundhouse, anchors the ground floor with a blend of elegance and practicality, while a cutting-edge AV system integrates technology seamlessly throughout the house. The interiors balance comfort with refinement, designed to meet the needs of a busy family while maintaining timeless appeal.

For this project, Emilie Mauran provided project management and interior design in collaboration with Jo Cowen Architects.
